Mario participated in an art project focusing on the depiction of the sea in his hometown of Brighton, which eventually evolved into artwork inspired by the sea in the style of Katsushika Hokusai.
This piece originally started as a line drawing in black ink, with additional elements of colour added using watercolour. The use of black ink showcases Mario’s proficiency in line drawing.

“The waves are powerful. The sea has waves that go up and down and bubble.”
