Teresa Wood

Teresa is dedicated artist focusing a lot of her work on watercolour and drawing. In the art rooms at Grace Eyre Teresa often spends her time making cards for friends. Her favourite themes cover celebrations throughout the year. With emphasis on card with messages such as ‘Get Well Soon,’ ‘Happy Birthday’, ‘Happy Anniversary’, and ‘Sorry You Are Leaving’.

Teresa’s artwork and cards often feature her favourite things, which can be humours. Her main subjects are budgies with or without hats, Jesus on the cross, cats, beach huts, flowers, and occasionally a train.

Teresa is also a prolific knitter and textile artist. She is often knitting blankets for lucky cats and dogs of her friends.

Teresa says this about her artwork:

“I have always like doing art. I started when I was very young.”

How does art make Teresa feel?

“Happy, lovely yeah.”

What is Teresa’s favourite thing to paint?

“Birds are my favourite thing to paint. I used to have Budgies when I was young. Pussy cats I like doing, and flowers, lots of flowers.”

Why does Teresa like to make cards?

“For people’s birthdays, I make them for my family and my carers.”
